The first of our B.R.S. releases, this attractive truck carries British Road Services' lion emblem on its cab doors, a sight well known in Britain in the ‘fifties.
It would be fair to say that there was at least one example of every British, (and many foreign) truck manufacturer in the B.R.S. fleet at one time. It is no surprise then that this Albion version of the Ergomatic design of cab is featured here. DRK 238D, fleet number AT47 being an early example of the marque.
Painted in the B.R.S. Parcel Services green livery, this Bedford TK, PJJ 618, would have served in the fleet from the early ‘sixties.
B.R.S. was divided into regional groups in 1969. Southern B.R.S. adopted a bright orange and white livery as their identlty, which included the new corporate "arrows" logo on the cab doors. VBY 354M is an accurate representation which even includes the nudge bar on its cab front.
NVP 301G moves forward in time to the early seventies where the new style fleet name was carried proudly in white, this time on the roof. Fleet number EC25, this TK pulls trailer TEB 741 loaded with two large packing crates. A point to note of detail is that the tail of the, trailer on the majority of B.R.S. vehicles were painted white to aid loading this is clearly, visible on this model.
Including another period in which the identity of B.R.S. was altered PGW 780E, fleet number AM79, depicts the vehicle as it would have been seen under THC control with the appropriate logo on its cab sides. Complete with headboard and highly detailed grill, this B.R.S. truck makes an interesting addition to the fleet
