Services in south west London and the Surrey borders have changed hands many times. The routes have their roots in the operations of Capital Logistics and Tellings Golden Miller. National Express bought these and the French Connex operation to form Travel London and Travel Surrey. When the recession hit National Express found its new North East rail franchise put it in severe financial difficulties and it temporarily improved its bank balance by selling its London and Surrey operations to the Dutch state railway company NedRail (NS). They have adopted the name Abellio for their UK bus operations, the same name they use for their German bus subsidiary. The Dutch railway logo appears alongside the fleetname. Much of the Surrey work was under contract to the Couny Council and the work was lost to other operators in September 2017. The fifty vehicle Byfleet depot was no longer viable and the remaining commercial services passed to White Bus and Falcon Buses, both of whom had benefitted in the County retendering.
