Showbus 50
Plans are slowly coming together to celebrate 50 years of SHOWBUS. The anniversary expects to be held over TWO consecutive Sundays. On Sunday 18th September 2022 there will be a SHOWBUSflyby along the A40 through the centre of High Wycombe where the SHOWBUS TRADERS VILLAGE will be located in the historic town Market Place. The following weekend on Sunday 25th September the bus display will take place at the Hertfordshire County Showground with the SHOWBUS TRADERS VILLAGE in and around the marquee.

We hope several buses that appeared at early displays and the first display at Brunel University in January 1973 will take part, including the historic former Eastern National open top Bristol KSW used by Sir Paul McCartney and his group Wings on their 1972 tour of Europe.

SHOWBUS has celebrated Her Majesty's Silver, Gold and Diamond Jubilees and in 2022 we will also celebrate the Platinum Jubilee. We hope to repeat what we did for the Diamond Jubilee with a display featuring a bus from each of the seventy years of Her Majesty's reign.

It's also 50 years since the Leyland National took to the road, so we hope to have a good display of Nationals in 2022.

There's another 50th anniversary besides SHOWBUS and the Leyland National and we plan a special celebration for that. More news soon.

If you know of another 50th anniversary this year let us know.
