Jackson Transit Authority Gillig Phantom 953
Typical of the JTA fleet in early August 2010 were these midi-sized Gillig Phantoms. This is 953. For a relatively small town (population 65000) Jackson, named after a former General and President, enjoyed a comprehensive bus network, supplemented by paratransit.

Jackson Transit Authority depot
The fleet operated out of a period depot at the east end of East Deaderick Street. The depot was finished reflecting the old livery of silver and blue. However the place has since been bulldozed and replaced by a brand new spacious facility at 38 Eutah Street.
