An unusual purchase - perhaps of necessity - as the new school term started in September 2007, was an ex Cardiff Alexander bodied Volvo Ailsa. The Ailsa had originally been Alexander (Fife) FRA71 (A971YSX) and joined Cardiff's large and successful fleet of unusual Northern Counties bodied Ailsas as their 451. One of the Northern Counties Cardiff Ailsas (431) also joined Carousel at the same time. Neither had appeared in red livery by Spring of 2008 and indeed are rarely seen in service.
