Red Rose Iveco
The 387 route, better known as Tring Town Service, had a claim to fame at one time as the home of the one and only London Transport XMB, the 15th AEC Swift delivered for use in 1966 by the Country are of London Transport. The first 14 pioneered the Red Arrow operation in the city. In 1986, at deregulation, teh route passed to Red Rover as their 27. Two buses were needed and the new Optare CityPacers were regular performers, though dual door Nationals (including LT's LS1) were regulars too. Tring Station is some way from Tring and the morning and evening journeys are designed around train times, serving both Tring and the picturesque village of Aldbury, with the Pond as the terminus. M62MOG approaches that stop.

A classic photo, with M62MOG reflecting in the pond. Red Rose and Lutonian jointly took over the 27, now returned to the 387 in 2002.

Outside the Rose & Crown timing point in Tring, bound for New Mill, the other end of the route. M62MOG was one of two Mellor 27 seat Iveco 59-12s bought new by Red Rose. Unfortunately M848MOL, the other one caught fire and was totally destroyed, thankfully not whilst in service.
