This view of the Wharf Bus Station in Newbury shows contrasting Bristol K rears.
The bus on the extreme left is fitted with platform doors, that alongside is open.
There are also a couple of LS rears visible and an LD on stand. passing through the
station is a Southdown Plaxton Panorama bodied Leyland Leopard.

Thames Valley 596 (FMO978) was from the batch of 15 Bristol KS6Bs delivered in
1960/61. The 6 from 1961, of which 596 is one, had the luxury of rear platform
doors. Subsequent Ks were the wider KSW type, the 'S' is believed to stand for
'stengthened'. 596 is seen at Slough Railway Station awaiting departure on
the main road service 60 to Maidenhead.
