Hants & Dorset Bristol KSW ECW 1281 - KEL724
This lowbridge ECW bodied Bristol KS6B charges around Southampton in 1966 - notice the sun visor over the cab on 1281 (KEL724). Not so obvious is that this KS model was fitted with an 8 feet wide body, standard fitment on the wider KSW chassis.

Hants & Dorset Bristol MW6G ECW 904 - FEL751D
Beautifully restored and lovingly cared for is this ECW bodied Bristol MW6G, 904 (FEL751D). It is seen at the 1998 Bristol rally. The lack of destination blinds reflects its original use on excursions and tours. The style of bodywork was short lived (compared to the earlier MW coach body which dated back to the Bristol LS era. A similar style was used on the longer RELH model and was sustained on that for much longer.

Hants & Dorset Bristol LL5G Portsmouth Aviation 779 - KLJ749
Rare Portsmouth Aviation bodywork adorns Hants & Dorset Bristol LL5G 779 (KLJ749). ECW bodies would be much more familiar on this chassis. A number of the Portsmouth Aviation bodies was replaced by an unusual fully fronted ECW body in their later years, many with specially cut away rear ends for use on the Sandbanks ferry service - 779 escaped this fate and is seen here arriving at Showbus 97.

Hants & Dorset Bristol Lodekka ECW FLF
This Bristol FLF is seen in August 1966, framed in the doorway of Bedford Place, the Southampton Hants & Dorset depot. When Stagecoach acquired Hampshire BUs, the remnants of Hants & Dorset, they sold the site for use as a supermarket soon after it bought the company.

Hants & Dorset Bristol L ECW 677- KEL405
This rebuilt Bristol L chassis, 677 (KEL405), has been given a full front ECW body in the style of that fitted to the rare breed of new Bristol SC4LK coaches. Thames Valley also had some similarly rebodied, but theirs originally had Windover coachwork, Hants & Dorset's (and Wilts & Dorset too) had Portsmouth Aviation coach bodies The H&D batch also featured the cut away rear ends to cope with the ramp when boarding the Sandbanks ferry.
