 Three MCW Orion bodied Damiler CVG6 doubledeckers are seen together in Coventry's Pool Meadow Bus Station in the late seventies. Centre stage is 1963 324 (324CRW) and on the right 197 vintage 212 (SKV212). Note all three are in different versions of fleet livery.

 When British Leyland took a stake in the nationalised Bristol and ECW bus builders, Coventry was one of the first to take advantage of the opportunity to but buses from the companies, which hitherto had been restricted to selling to the nationalised Tilling group of companies. This Daimler Fleetline, 29 (KWK29F), was bodied by ECW, receiving an adaptation of their standard VR bodywork, not only adapted to fit the Daimler chassis, but also built to full haight as all VR doubledeckers up to that point had been built to lowbridge layout.

 The ECW FLeetlines were preceded by a batch of six complete Brisol/ECW products, 516-521 (KHP516-521E), dual door Bristol RESL6G models. Seen on layover is Pool Meadow is 520. Its design differs from contemporary RE deliveries which were transitioning from the original curved front design to the shallow flat front sreen. Coventry's examples had the shallow flat front screens, with slightly ungainly destination boxes which had the route number box above two side by side destination dispays, however the rear profile is from the original curvaceous RE body distorted by the roof lien route number box.
