Leyland was the biggest builder of bus and coach chassis in the UK until taken over by Volvo. Leyland also bodied vehicles in the early postwar period as well as the National. Olympian and, through its ownership of Roe, the final Royal Tiger model. Leyland absorbed the majority of other UK manufacturers including AEC, Albion, Bristol, Crossley, Daimler, ECW, Guy and Park Royal.
