Much as the last days of Colchester's fleet was dominated by ECW bodied Atlanteans, earlier it was Massey bodied Leyland Titans, the PD2A model as this line up inside the depot shows. Sixteen were delivered between 1963 and 1966 preceeded by five PD2 models, and followed by ten Massey bodied Atlanteans across 1967/68. The first two Titans identified in this line up are 37 (CWC37B) and 44 (OVX144D). In the fifties AEC found favour with Massey bodied Regent V doubledeckers and the first bus in this line up is one ending its days as the fleet's driver trainer.

There were no doubledeckers delivered from 1968 till 1975 when the Atlantean had evolved into the AN68 model and Massey was no more. ECW were in favour after a couple of batches of Bristol RELL singledecks so 56 (JHK496N) was a 1975 delivery, seen outside the depot the same day as the PD2A picture above. As before, note the small window in the nearside front pillar.
