Former Christchurch Bristol RELL6L Hawke Commander 500
Earlier bodies on Christchurch RE buses were the more stylish Hawke Commander model, built on ECW frames from the UK. Thought to be seen in August 1992 was former 500 (IU9062). The bus was sold to De Luxe Travel Lines of Blenheim at the north end of the South Island in 1991, so the picture suggests it may have been number 26 in their fleet.

Blue Star Taxis Bristol RELL6L Hawke & ex NZRRS Bedford YMT NZMB PK5254
Also seen in August 1992 was another Hawke, an unidentified RELL6L with Blue Star Taxis in Christchurch. It is seen with an NZRRS NZMB bodied Bedford YMT, PK5254, which may no longer have been with its original owner. Both display "CANRIDE" stickers, which were introduced in Christchurch with the advent of deregulation in July 1991.

GoBus Bristol RELL6L Hess 162
Photographed in Hamilton in April 2005 was Hess bodied 162 (JN8805) with GoBus. It was earlier sold to Blue Worth of Hamilton a company that merged with former privatised Hamilton City Buses, Simpsons and Hodgsons to form GoBus. In Christchurch it was 562.

Nimon Leyland Leopard PSU3 NZMB-Hess 118
Before the Bristols, Christchurch had built up a large fleet of Leyland Leopards. This example, with NZMB-Hess bodywork, was seen in April 2008 with Nimon & Sons of Havelock North, near Hastings and Napier. Then their 115 (DSU955) in Christchurch it was 193 (KE6569), in between it was working in Milford Sound.
