Bereft of fleet numbers, P405KOW is an early Dart SLF with the pre Plaxton Pointer 2 bodywork. It also sports a temporary livery which combines First magenta with Southampton red - to reasonable effect. The bus eventually gained First national number 42505.

A unique vehicle in the Southampton fleet was this ex Wadham Stringer demonstrator with Portsdown-style bodywork on a Dart 8.5m chassis. The bus, 1307 (G895XPX), was laid up in the depot on a Sunday in July 2000.
