Guernsey Bus Station
Many of these photos date from a visit to Guernsey in the summer of 1965. All were taken with a Kodak 'Brownie' camera.
 
Guernsey Motors & Railways Albion Nimbus The Reading bodied Albion Nimbus was the standard new purchase for both the associated fleets of Guernsey Motors and Guernsey Railway in the sixties. 86 (10486) sported matching fleet and regsitration numbers in the Motors fleet, but Railway 65 was registered 10488. They are seen together entering St Peter Port Bus Station.
 
Guernsey Railways Guy Vixens Guy Vixens! 12 (4400) dates from 1946 and was acquired from Guernsey Motors, 9 (502) dates from 1947. Both have Duple 35 seat bodywork. The Guy Vixen chassis is perhaps better known in teh 84 'Specials' with ECW bodywork built for London Transport as 26 seat country buses, the GS
 
Guernsey Railways Leyland Cub Whereas Guernsey Railway acquired some interesting vehicles in 1963 from Blue Bird, Railway took over Paragon in 63 and acquired its Commer Comandos, some Victor SPFT3Ls and this 35 seat 1934 Heaver bodied Leyland Cub SKP3 (one of two).
 
Guernsey Railways Albion Victor Heaver bodied Albion Victor 36 (6436) on route 20 to Vazon Bay in the north of the island. Broadly speaking Railways served the wide sandy beaches to the north and Motors the craggy cove beaches to the south.
