Reflecting the impact that Grey Green had when it took on central London route 24
with a fleet of brand new buses in their striking non-red colours and also
acknowledging Grey Green as the seed corn of Arriva, the company chose to present
115 (F115PHM) to the Covent Garden Museum. The occasion on June 14th 2003, was marked by a display
in the piaza featuring the Golden Jubilee RT (4712) seen behind 115, the first
Wright Gemini bodied DAF DB250LF decker (DW1) and Arriva Midlands North's "Bus
of the Future". 115 had received a full repaint into original Grey Green colours
as it finished service with Arriva London, in common with fellow machines.

Seen in Romford is an example of an early Grey Green expansion, when they took over from County
Bus the 103 route and the fleet of Olympian/Northern Counties only recently put into service on it.

Grey Green's initial London operations were not all prestigious new vehicle contracts. Some may
still recall creaking ex South Yorkshire DMS look alike Fleetlines. More luxurious were luxury
coaches rebodied as non luxury buses, both single and doubledeck. The 210 received a fleet of
Volvo B10Ms rejuvenated with beefy looking East Lancs bodies. The route has just past to Frank Thope,
operating a fleet of brand new Plaxton SLF Darts.

929 found further use immediately after withdrawal from the 210 with Limebourne, while the
company was struggling after vehicles had been repossessed by finance companies and before
new SCUK bodied SLF Darts were delivered. 929 is seen here on the 156, with obviously
inadequate blind information. The batch is appearing with Arriva Scotland freshly painted
in turquoise and stone.
