Surfside Leyland National
Surfside Buslines were keen Leyland National operators and built up a substantial fleet of 10.9 metre dual door models either bought new or acquired secondhand. They also purchased the only 11.3m model - specially shortened to the then maximum 11m length - which entered Australia as a demonstrator and has been modelled by Trux. This National, seen in Surfers Paradise is in the same colour scheme as the model when photographed in 1989.

Surfside Leyland B21 PMC 617
Recently added to the Surfside fleet back in 1989 was this Leyland B21 in advert livery. The B21 was a version of the Leyland National suitable for bodying independently and PMC performed the task on 617 (617NZT) in this case. The bus was sold on to Red & White as their 9 (320DRR), and from there sold for use as a motorhome in the Bundaberg area, but then across the country to Armadale, WA with rego WU278.

Gold Coast Citybus & Surfside Nationals
Two Surfside Nationals, one in advert livery, provide the background to this 1989 photo of Gold Coast Citybus' National. This is believed to be Citybus' only National, 095NKY, which was new to Blackstone Busways of Booval in Queensland and passed through two other owners before acquisition by Citybus. It is a dual door 10.9m model.
